Charlie was born with congenital heart disease, and needed heart surgery. The Lefaves spent 5 months in Toronto with their critically ill child to receive care at The Hospital for Sick Children.<\/p>\n

While at Sick Kids, the idea to form the Twinkie Foundation was born. The Twinkie Foundation incorporated and became a registered charity in January of 2017, and was introduced to the public last April.<\/p>\n

The Foundation is committed to helping relieve some of the financial burden incurred by Sault Ste. Marie families who have to travel for medical purposes for children under the age of 18.<\/p>\n

Charlie and Georgia will be turning four in May and are registered to start school in the fall.<\/p>\n
